The Division of Interdisciplinary Programs is comprised of academic centers and programs that bring together a multi-disciplinary group of faculty and students devoted to the study of global concerns and major world regions. This Division includes the Center for European Studies, the Center for African Studies, the Center for Middle Eastern Studies, the Program in Middle Eastern Studies, the South Asian Studies Program, the Center for Latin American Studies, the Rutgers Center for Chinese Studies, the Bildner Center, and the Rutgers University Center for Cognitive Science.
Each center is devoted to fostering a scholarly exchange that is dedicated to interdisciplinary research and scholarship from a historical and contemporary perspective. The centers and programs offer a selection of degree and certificate options for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as special programs, conferences, and talks on a wide variety of topics by distinguished scholars from across the campus and around the world.
Our primary goal is to support each center’s endeavors to create platforms for faculty, students, and citizens of New Jersey that foster an exchange of ideas from an international or global perspective.
