Changes in processing COAD APPOINTMENTS

Changes in processing COAD APPOINTMENTS

Dear SAS Colleagues,

Due to the University's new guidelines pertaining to coadjutant appointments (see email below that was posted in the Academic Personnel Forum maintained by the Office of Academic Labor Relations), departments will need to enter the average hours worked per week for all coadjutant appointments. SAS is in the process of updating the PTL/Coad Appointment system to reflect this additional information that is required . Once the system is updated the Personnel Managers will be rejecting all pending coadjutant appointments that are currently in the system back to the departments to enter this information in the additional fields that will be created.

If your department has an urgent request for a coadjutant appointment that needs to go out prior to February 1, 2015, please notify your Personnel Manager who in turn will generate a letter outside of the system.

An announcement has been added in the "Academic Personnel Forum" site at (https://content.sakai.rutgers.edu/portal/site/8a66942a-f126-4705-a995-d22b92970240) at Dec 11, 2014 3:20 pm

Please ensure that, going forward, all coadjutant appointment letters include the average number of hours per week that the coadjutant will be expected to work during the term of his or her appointment.  Furthermore, please ensure that the average number of hours the coadjutant is expected to work each week during the term of his or her appointment is entered into the Standard Hours field at the time the appointment is being generated in HCM.

In addition, if you have already processed a coadjutant appointment for 2015, please check the appointment in HCM to ensure that the number in the Standard Hours field represents the average number of hours that the coadjutant is expected to work each week during the term of his or her appointment.
