Heather serves as an I-9 and HCM preparer to onboard Class 1, 3 and 4 Staff employees as well as Class 5 Student workers. She works with the I-9 Compliance Coordinators at University Human Resources to ensure these employee populations are following and in compliance with Federal regulations, specifically timely completion of I-9 Forms. Heather serves as the primary contact for the departments within the Division of Humanities, Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences, and the Dean’s Office. She handles all aspects of Class 4 Casual and Seasonal hiring and Class 4 Casual reappointments for the departments in the divisions listed above. Heather facilitates the staff recruitment process and preparations for SAS New Employee Orientations. Heather also assists with Faculty and Staff Compensation programs and notifications. She coordinates logistics and event planning for the School of Arts and Sciences Staff Excellence Recognition Program and other SAS-HR workshops/training sessions.

Heather joined the School of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Office as a Class 4 Seasonal Human Resources Assistant in October 2017. She then accepted a Class 1 Human Resources Assistant position in June 2018 and was promoted to Human Resources Specialist in May 2023. Heather holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with minors in Chinese-Language Area Studies and Sociology from the University of New Haven and a Master of Education degree in College Student Affairs at the Rutgers University Graduate School of Education.
