MilledolerdoorsquareThe SAS Dean's Office is responsible for ensuring compliance with University and School of Arts and Sciences employment policies, procedures, union contracts, and accepted practice with respect to faculty and staff matters. To that end, the Office of Human Resources has been established to provide administrative direction, coordination, and implementation of employment programs and procedures at the School, in collaboration with University Human Resources, the Office of Academic Affairs, and University Counsel. The Office of Human Resources, under the direction of Karalyn Gallagher, has responsibility for managing personnel issues for all faculty and staff at SAS from hiring through termination.

OUR MISSION:  The Office of Human Resources partners with academic departments to provide comprehensive support and guidance on matters pertaining to human resources, employment policy, and payroll in convenient and confidential manners.

Telecommuting Information and Resources 

Spring 2021 PTL/Coad Appointments: It is time to begin entering new Part-Time Lecturer and Coadjutant appointments for Spring 2021. Please enter your submissions as early as possible.
Reminder highlights affecting Spring 2021 appointments:
- The minimum base salary per credit is $1886. For PALS (Intensive & Evening programs), it is $57 per hour. For PALS Corporate program, it is $63 per hour.
- Continuing our practice, class enrollment must be at least 15 and Graduate Course enrollment must be at least 5 before appointments will be approved. Exceptions will be made only with Division Dean approval. Please hold in department queue until enrollment has been met or Division Dean approval has been obtained to run the course. Please upload email approval from Division Dean in the portal, if required.
- Appointment letters will be signed by the faculty member via DocuSign.
- Approved ERF's must be attached to the PTL/Coad portal when processing appointments.

Federal work study Update:
- Students can work until end of day on December 22, 2020 to conclude the Fall semester and can begin working at the start of the Spring semester on January 19, 2021. If you wish to schedule your student workers during the break, they must be paid from your department's funding and not their FWS budget allocation. 
- As of January 1, 2021, the minimum wage hourly rate will increase from $11/hr. to $12/hr and as such, all other pay ranges for work study students will increase. For more information on pay rate increases, click here
